Coastal Living Rooms

Many coastal living rooms are purposely designed to be more relaxing and oftentimes feel much like a holiday while living inside one. These types of rooms offer you and your family a wonderful, relaxing, outdoorsy feeling.

The first thing you will notice about most coastal living room ideas for coastal living dining rooms and bedrooms is the use of bright and shiny colors. Bright colors help to open up your space and make it feel more spacious and eye-catching.

You’ll also find coastal living rooms with natural and coastal accents, such as sandstone walls, wooden furniture, and coastal accessories like towels, crockery, pictures, and lamps.

Most coastal living rooms essentially have coastal living room images, consisting of a few coastal shells, seashells, and wood or wicker furniture decoration. You may choose to add a small bench or two to the interior and for your convenience, to frame your coffee table or side tables, and to give you an extra cozy area for chatter.

If you are seeking a more polished, contemporary look, choose tones of sand gray or off-white decoration pieces.

Few Coastal Living Room Ideas

Coastal living rooms will also incorporate a few coastal living room ideas for decor elements, choosing pieces with a coastal touch like wicker or wood furniture, a glass coffee table, a wooden side table, and a coastal accent throw.

Consider using wicker furniture pieces, especially if you will be exposing your wooden coffee table or side table to the ocean. You can paint your wooden pieces in a neutral, earth-tone color. Or, you can expose them to the sun, which will cause them to age beautifully.

Choose coastal decorating ideas for living rooms for furniture, incorporating a coastal living room sofa into your interior design might be the final piece of the puzzle. As you look around your house for furniture pieces, consider using an umbrella stand, a wooden shelf for display, a wooden cabinet, and a few coastal accents, such as shell pendants and seashells.

You might want to choose furniture with a natural color, rather than a brightly painted style. If you would like to create a coastal living room yourself, consider buying or making furniture pieces that will withstand humidity. This will help protect your furniture from coastal weather conditions.

Another idea for interior designers for coastal living rooms is to incorporate a few touches from the beach home. You may want to cover your walls with domains of blue or green tile, perhaps to match the ocean waves.

Coastal Home Print

Hang a coastal home print over a door, or place a bamboo shade on a window. If your walls are painted a neutral color, consider covering them in a coastal style wallpaper, with waves splashed on the background. If your sofa is made of wicker, consider painting it the same hue.

Many coastal living rooms have open floor plans, which allow you to spread out and take advantage of all the open space. If this is the case, use coastal decor items such as shaggy cushions, rattan baskets to hold your beach accessories, and a wicker or metal bib that allows you to keep beach accessories near you.

Use coastal decor items such as a beautiful coastal themed table cover, or a chair that has a rocking chair attached to it. In this way, your coastal living rooms won’t lack character!

Coastal living rooms can also have a beach theme with touches of earth tones and wood. For instance, use pale yellow or light blue curtains to frame a view of the ocean, or choose wall art with sea life on it.

The perfect touch for your coastal living rooms would be to add some rugs to the room, but don’t go for the usual throw rugs; instead, use dark blue seashell rugs, or sea sponge rugs. The sponge would be the perfect accessory because it is a reminder of the sand that was spread across the beach.

The sponge would even be more authentic if it had some sand in the shape of a cone.

Coastal Living Dining Rooms

Coastal living dining rooms have evolved into modern coastal living room ideas and the most decorated living spaces. Instead of a traditional rug, use pillows that match the color of the walls.

You can use rugs, lace, and candles to dress up the room, without turning it into a nautical party. Look for coastal accessories such as wrought iron candle holders that would pair well with a coastal theme and choose wrought iron candle holders with seashells or starfish etched into them.

You can even add a bench made from sand-like ceramics to the coastal living room for a simple, yet stunning look. These are coastal living room ideas that can make a home feel more relaxed and calm.
